Runway also has an Agent, a timeline and reusable skills, and remains a strong choice for exploring AI scenes. ChatCut adds a finishing workflow with XML timeline export to Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve.

Can I finish my Runway clips in ChatCut?

Yes. Download your Runway clips, import them into ChatCut, and ask the agent to arrange them with product stills, narration, captions and graphics. This starts from exported media; it does not transfer the Runway Agent chat or project.

Is ChatCut free?

Yes. The Free plan includes the editor, uploads, transcription, captions and standard exports. AI generation and the built-in agent use credits, and AI video generation needs a paid plan.

Can I use ChatCut from Claude Code or Codex?

Yes. The ChatCut plugin runs in Claude Code and the Codex app, and ChatCut Desktop connects Claude Code, Codex and other agents through a local MCP server. Your agent edits the real timeline, which you can keep adjusting by hand.

How the plugin works

Can I finish a ChatCut edit in another editor?

Yes. ChatCut exports XML timelines for Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, and ChatCut Desktop also exports editable CapCut drafts. It does not export Final Cut Pro XML (FCPXML).
