Is ChatCut a Premiere Pro alternative?

For everyday edits, yes: you describe the video and ChatCut's agent cuts, captions and adds graphics. For frame-level finishing, many people use both, making the rough cut in ChatCut and finishing it in Premiere.

Can I open a ChatCut edit in Premiere Pro?

Yes. ChatCut exports an XML timeline that Premiere Pro opens with your cuts in place. Captions, motion graphics and some effects may need to be rebuilt or rendered first.

Yes. The Free plan includes the editor, uploads, transcription, captions and standard exports. AI generation and the built-in agent use credits, and AI video generation needs a paid plan.

Can I use ChatCut from Claude Code or Codex?

Yes. The ChatCut plugin runs in Claude Code and the Codex app, and ChatCut Desktop connects Claude Code, Codex and other agents through a local MCP server. Your agent edits the real timeline, which you can keep adjusting by hand.

Where does ChatCut run?

ChatCut Desktop runs on macOS 13 or newer and Windows 10 or newer, and the web app runs in a desktop browser at app.chatcut.io. There is no native phone app, and Linux is not supported.
